Authentic Learning

Authentic Learning by Bill Genereux: This article by Bill Genereux reminds me so much of EDM 310. Genereux writes about a technology class, Digital Ethnography, that he took under Dr. Michael Wesch. Genereux has been involved in computer technology for over 25 years, however this graduate class required more time and dedication than any other class he taken. But the effort he has put in has payed off with teaching skills and techniques that he uses daily with his students. The reason this article reminds me of EDM 310 is due to the fact that although it has required a minimum of 9 hours a week and significantly more work than many other classes, I am throughly enjoying the information I am learning, and I am looking forward to being able to use it in the future.

Inventor of the Personal Computer

Inventor of the Personal Computer by Bill Genereux I learned a lot from this article and it is very interesting to me to find out that Steve Wozniak, AKA “The Woz" was the creator of the first personal computer, the Apple One. Today we take technology for granted every day, where as Bill Genereux speaks of growing up when schools didn't even have computers yet. In his post Genereux definitely seemed excited to meet Wozniak, and was even more thrilled when he was inspired to make computer technology fun for his students.
